The 2017 ComicBook.com Golden Issue Award for Best Anime Film

Megan Peters　12/26/2017

ComicBook.com’s Golden Issue awards are here to highlight those special movies
and give one of them our biggest honor.
And the winner of Best?魵nime?鰀ilm is…

Your Name!

If you are a savvy anime fan, you will realize that??Your Name??got its initial
release in 2016. The film debuted in Japan way before U.S. fans could get a hold of it,
but 2017 ushered??Your Name??abroad back in April. The international release sealed??
Your Name’s timely spot on ComicBook.com’s list,
and it isn’t hard to see why.

Your Name??not only beat out??Spirited Away??to become the highest-grossing
anime film of all-time, but its artistry is one that cannot be ignored. The film’s
animation is as ethereal as it is hyperrealistic, and its supernatural romance
is one you won’t see coming. Shinkai beautifully captured his lead characters
as they embarked on an unprecedented journey, and fans are anxiously awaiting
the director’s next project.
