I haven't seen "I Spit on Your Grave" yet.

However, many Japanese movie fans call it a "B-grade, third-rate horror movie."
They also mentioned the cheapness of the camerawork and editing.

To be honest, Japanese movie fans aren't shocked by this level of violence.
We are used to much more extreme content in manga.

What Japanese people actually find terrifying isn't gore,
but characters like Sadako from "Ring."
We dread that eerie, psychological atmosphere that sticks to you.

It’s a bit funny how some people treat this as the "ultimate" shock film.
To us, it just looks like a low-budget, old-school movie.


Mere shocks and shallow displays of depravity
will never touch the soul of a true masterpiece.

To the Japanese audience,
these things are simply hollow and uninspiring.
