Why are Spanish movies so incredibly boring?
That is exactly why so many of them remain unreleased in Japan.
Japanese audiences will never spend their money on a tedious film.

I am sure almost every French movie starring Danielle Darrieux or Jeanne Moreau was released here.
They are actually interesting, and the sense of enchantment is on a completely different level.

Japanese people refuse to watch movies that offer no dream or hope.
It is simply a waste of time to deal with them.

In today's Japan, the only people who enjoy dark films by Jean-Luc Godard or Ingmar Bergman are intellectual men over the age of 65.
I expect independent mini-theaters to go out of business one after another within the next five years.

On the other hand, movies starring Gérard Philipe always get revived in Japan.
That is because they have real substance.
